Our Story
Ironically, our story started when the world and everything stopped
As the world stood still in chaos during the COVID pandemic our story and and relationship began and put our worlds back into orbit.

HOW I MET HIM

COVID slowed things down for me from an active social life to a closer circle of friends. I enjoyed meeting and talking to new people in person. However, I decided to leave my comfort zone and fill out my Facebook profile to make new connections. Soon after, I received a Facebook message saying, "I don't usually do this, and it might seem weird..." I read his message, then checked out his profile picture, and thought he was very attractive. His profile mentioned that he graduated from the University of Buffalo with Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering degrees. I was impressed and intrigued to know more. After exchanging a few messages, I learned he was Jamaican and lived in Buffalo for half the year. I decided to call him on FaceTime to verify that I was talking to a real person, not a catfish. I also wanted to connect more over Facetime.
HOW I MET HER

Due to COVID, it was mandatory for everyone working offshore to quarantine for fourteen days. During the two weeks of quarantine and scrolling on Facebook, a friend's suggestion popped up. The moment I saw the picture, the smile got me, and I became hooked. At this point, I am quarantining in Houston, Texas. Her profile stated that she lives in Buffalo, NY, and is from Trinidad. I've lived in Buffalo for ten-plus years and never met anyone from Trinidad. I also returned from one of my best Carnival in Trinidad a few months prior. At that moment, it seemed foolish and idiotic not to shoot my shot. So I pulled out the bazooka and shot my shot with the best Jamaica smooth talk lyrics I could come up with.

We talked for hours. The next phone call was to tell my close friends about this Jamaican I met on Facebook. Given their reputation, I needed to know if it was a good idea to talk to a Jamaican man. After much deliberation and consideration, his genuine qualities and charm outweigh his somewhat unpredictable and busy schedule.
Though there was an instant connection and undeniably strong chemistry between us, there was some hesitation due to Christoff's work schedule. Christoff's work requires him to travel for months at a time. Sometimes, he would be at sea for sixty days without coming home. Most places are remote, and we can only communicate when there is a stable internet connection.
We spent the few days Christoff was home together, and it always felt magical. While COVID had the outside world in chaos, our world seemed to be in perfect synchronicity. We were limited to phone calls and text messages during our first month of knowing each other. However, our worlds slowly merged, and our interest in each other grew exponentially.

On October 24th, after a month of Facetime and texting, we met for our first date. Black and Blue Stackhouse. Safe to say, we were both nervous and anxious. However, the chemistry was instant; we laughed and talked for hours, even forgetting the food was on the table. At that moment, everything stood still, and it felt like we were exactly where we were supposed to be. What felt like minutes was hours as we spoke and laughed about everything. Even today, we reminisce about our first date when we both realized that night how lucky we are to have found our soulmates.
As time went on, our relationship continued to grow. We decided it was time to take the relationship to another level. We decided to move in together and purchased our first investment property together. We realized we worked well together to achieve our goals without killing each other.

September is a significant month for us for many reasons.
One of them was closing on our first investment property.
Another reason September is a special month is Kristine's birthday month, and the month Christoff proposed at Kristine's 30th celebration with friends and family.
